When I was mad enough to join this forum - there were few people who owned them on the forum. There were only the likes of Beej, MbGreen Pasarelle - even Rob2 didn't have one then!!!

I was welcomed by JimiD who had a couple of Als and answered all my Noobie questions with great patience.

I had only played an AL for a couple of minutes - a brand new one which had been ordered by a customer and I had to be sooo careful playing it (rightly so!)

I went on to order my AL which was a big gamble at the time - and the rest is history.

I tell ya what, I played a lot 30 years ago and wish I had one then !!

Anyway, I'll stop rambling !!
I think I'd be right in saying that the AL is now owned by a lot more people on the forum - to such an extent that the ALOC has had to find a larger clubhouse ha!

Don't forget the online Xmas party sometime in December - I'll post details soon.

I think those first few people to order it( The Albert Lee) were visionarys. In the same way the first few people who embraced the totaly wild design of 1954 the Fender Statocaster. It takes a person who is ahead of his time to choose new or different body designs and break away from the pack.I must admit that i didnt see the beauty of this guitar until recently and would like to bop myself a good one for not buying one sooner. So i salute those early owners for their eclectic taste and balls to play something different and build a legend.

Hey Spudsman

I have an Albert comming that will be here Thursday:D and i absolutly am beamming about it.I remember playing one years ago at a music store but was still too blinded by the big two at the time......Fender and Gibson.I wish i would have had the balls to buy one back then but hey its never to late to find something and learn from past mistakes.I also have an Albert BFR on order but it wont be here for 6 months hence the reason i got this other one.

Fantastic - I but you can't wait? What's the specs?
Hope you got your camera all charged up to show it off? A BFR on order too - now that will be something else - even fingbeagles has kept his so it has to be good ha!

I too was blinded by Gibson - still have my ol' workhorse Les Paul but no longer use it.
I love my AL's and will keep on to them that's for sure.

Mine is blue and is single coil with hardtail.I am glad it is taking 6 months for my BFR it will take me that long to get the Dough together to buyt it!.I still have to sell a few guitars right now but should be in good shape when it arrives.

looks like your an old Lespaul Guy too eh, most players cut their teeth on those and i cant think of a better workhorse guitar when your in the heat of battle playing gigs that are of verying conditions. But The Albert much like the Strat is a finese guitar and can do so many more things sound wise from SRV to Foo Fighters type stuff and i love the idea that they are light! my back cant take a Lespaul anymore my 76 pro must weigh 18 pounds.

You know "I loves ya really".

and a fine set of AL's you have.

I played a jam night the other week and as soon as I took it out of it's a case a local guitarist (of some repute) said "Wow an Albert Lee - cool" - and man it sounded good through the F50 that night !!

I must admit I thought it was a terrible (looking) guitar for some time, but as of the last few weeks I'm really started to get interested, maybe I'll have to pick one up. Too bad there is no HH option, guess I'll be going w/ MM90's

LOVE THE BFR Beagles:)

That is the nicest looking guitar i have ever seen!!!! Period!
Really love the quilt and the neck, you really hit the jackpot on the birdseye end of the neck lottery. Some dont have that nice pattern to them.

If i had one exactly like that..... i could die a happy man tommorow.

Danny Musics Red Special Albert looks great too... and judging by the pictures is smart enough to even drive a boat!! Is there anything an Al cant do?.

Very futuristic, Jetsons'ish!!!!

I remember the firs tMM90 model I ever saw was Mike Greene's Envy Green one and I thought now that is an awesome guitar.

Then there was a forumite from NY that had gotten a White Sparkle exactly like mine and man I was in love. Luckly for me, I tracked down mine and bought it, never a regret there. The best thing about it, was that Jon did some very sweet fine tuning when I sent it back for warranty work.

Outside of here there are limited that cheris the AL, but that's ok, the secret is safe here. :D

well in the last 6 years I bought 7 guitars 3 Peavey hard tail wolfgangs and 1 floyd wolfgang /2 high end yamaha /and my last guitar a custom shop fender strat. That was going to be last guitar ever. But I had always looked at the albert lee after I saw the guitar when albert was with the George Harrison tribute concert. It looked crazy had a really good sound compared with Claptons strat.I often looked at them on Ebay USA but in Australia they were a rare item.So one day recently I saw one locally on ebay and that was it had to have it.Well im most impressed they are really good /sound great very veratile light and comfortable.ill still keep my Fender,as they are just classic too.I think the Albert lees will go down in guitar history as just great guitars .If batman ever gets a guitar it would have to be an Albert Lee as those pointy ears on this guitar just goes perfectly with his outfit.
