Want to tune down a half step (Eb), will I need to add any tension to the springs or possibly the truss rod? Using super slinky 9-42 pure nickel strings. Edit: Guitar is a EBMM Axis.

Just simply depends if you start getting fret buzz when you try it. Most of the time, it isn't a problem.

IF the rem was floating you would have to loosen the trem springs to return the bridge to its usual position. But as this is an Axis and the Floyd sits on the guitar top, it won't move when you detune so no adjustment necessary. If you get fret buzz on the lower frets, loosen the truss rod (looking toward the headstock from the bridge, turn to the left).

Got it tuned, it was a breeze. Did have to loosen the truss rod a bit to get rid of a little buzz. Thanks for the help!
