Heavier gauge strings

Can I use heavier gauge strings than the ones that come with my Big Al and Stingray basses? Also, what Ernie Ball set is equivalent to the Rotosound 66 Swing set?

Absolutely, use any gauge you like. However if it's a major change, you'll need to tweak your setup/intonation.
