Jason...An employee mixed in some Limited Edition neck plates with the regular plates. We caught most of them, but I guess a few non L/E's got shipped with L/E neck plates.

Johans...We have a strict policy about keeping the instruments as they left the factory. If your neck has frets, we would only replace it with another fretted neck. We won't change or upgrade anything.

Kinda hard to swap them out when one has a single coil and the other has a humbucker in the neck position. ;) I've got plans for a tort guard for the white bass in the near future, though (or, maybe yellow pearl to get that hard boiled egg effect :D ).

The fretless fretboard is Pao Ferro, I believe. It feels great!

White basses with a tort PG are so sweet:)

You've got 2 VERY nice basses

The rain is already gone. And, Waffle Houses are like mushrooms--heck, there are probably MORE because of the rain....

Pete if you haven't tried T-I's, DO! I've been through a LOT of strings in 25+ years of playing and T-I's are by far the best I've ever used. Very consistent and they last a long time. Plus Steve "Dude" Barr is the coolest guy in the world to buy strings from. I use 345 PowerBass but that darn Monkeeeee is taunting me to try the SuperAlloys. I probably will in a few months when they need replacing.

You'll love it! It's a way of life!

Seriously--I probably won't be ordering any more Powerbass strings, I'm afraid. I really like the Superalloys that much better. Scary since I thought the PBs were the be-all-end-all of nickel roundwound strings.

Ditto on the Dude, too. I ordered a set of EADGC TI Flats and he even sent them to Michael Dolan, who is refinishing the bass they are for. How cool is that?

Pickguard looks nice on the new White Whale Bongo, Capt Ahab!

I just got home today to find the new Green Hornet Bongo waiting on me. Haven't even plugged it in yet but it looks GREAT.

Also, Heinz is back amongst us here at Camp Bovine.

Speaking of pickguards, weren't you supposed to send me some tort love?

Tortoise affections on the way!

Glad you're back home, Jack. I knew you were going to be out of town for awhile, so I put together a little package for ya. ;) I meant to get it out on Wednesday so it'd be there when you got home, and my job tied me up three days in a row. It'll go out Monday--I promise!

I love the pearl white guard. I can't wait to see the pics of the Green Bongo.

I am amazed with this fretless. I played two four hour gigs this weekend, and used the fretless for the majority of time. The black sapphire Bongo only saw one set. Jon--I can't get over the nutwork (heh heh....nutwork...) on this baby. My compliments!
