Haven't had a bass since the early '90's when band split up. My main bass back then was a white Sting Ray, sold it for almost nothing  I am now the owner of a new '04 Desert Gold, rosewood fb. Sterling. :) Anyone know what the body wood is? Ash? One small problem, the plastic cap on the 3 way switch keeps falling off. Anyone else with that problem? What is the solution?

Congrats on the Sterling. I expect Jon will be along and answer your question on the cap falling off. He be the man here bouts.

If the body is a translucent finish where woodgrain shows it is most likely ash.
I believe the solid finish bodies are alder.

Super Glue for the switch cap.

99.9% of the basses(Not SUB's or Bongos) are ash.
