Welcome to the pond, Beth....and what a pair of balls

Always a good decision to sell the other guitars and acquire EBMMs....just what I did some years ago :)

Thanks for listening to my tracks :) There will be more coming once I get my act together; and I hope they will be even better with my ALs!

I am a Police fan and if I can even hint at Andy Summers I must be doing ok :D

Don't you love it if people notice your influences, especially if they stand out in completely different music? I played in a goth metal band and a well respected guitarist over here said, while listening to a particular song: "you listen to Mark Knopfler a lot, don't you?". Loved that he picked up on that.

Anywayz: welcome and what an awesome pair of AL's you got there! Wish I could finally check em out over here. Rare beasts across the pond.

With Albert Lee being from across the pond, there's something not right about AL's being rare over there. lol

Beth can I ask you a question? We had a member get all up in arms and threaten to leave because someone referred to his two music man insturments as his balls in this thread. Were you offended?

If you were I apologize...it is a common reference and not meant to be sexist.

I am curious as to your thoughts...thanks a bunch

Personally, I take no offense to that; it is what it is. If Mr. Ball himself can make light of the word play, then who am I to get offended?

I am 41, married, a mom of 4 kids, and have been playing guitar since I was 13. Once I started driving at 16, I visited lots of area guitar shops and began to frequent a couple of shops in particular. I never let myself feel intimidated even though I knew I was entering a mostly male domain. Were there sexist remarks made after I left these shops? I would guess so and there certainly were a couple of creepy individuals I ran into over the years. I also met lots of friendly guitar players, some of whom I am still friends with. I wasn't going to let fear of sexism or an off color remark keep me away.

It is much more common today to see another female guitarist than it was when I began playing which is nice, although the female bass player seems more common. There are still quite a few guy guitarists I meet that assume I play folk guitar. Chicks with acoustics are acceptable, chicks with electrics are still a curiosity to some I guess.

If someone referring to his EBMM guitars as his "Balls" is the worst thing I hear, then I must be in a pretty good place.
