Hello! I've been lurking long enough and thought I'd start joining in. :)

Looks like I'm finally going to be ordering an Albert Lee HH in Trans Walnut. The question though is which would look better for the pickguard? White Pearloid or Vintage White Pearloid?

I haven't seen a picture anywhere of one with the vintage on, so I'm hesitant, but think it could look pretty awesome. Thoughts?

Gotta be black, surely :)

Of course I'm biased.

Hah, awesome! I actually saw your images on Google Image search and they helped me decide on the Trans Walnut finish. :)

Honestly, in that finish I don't think you can go wrong with either of those choices. Although I will say this - personally I HATE black guards on any guitar. Any guitar ever. Except on the trans walnut HH AL. Yup. If I were getting one I'd flip a coin between plain black and plain white. And I would still probably order the black regardless! ;). Just food for thought........

I agree with the black! On the transfer walnut that is the way to go. This s the best finish on the HH AL. For sure. Looks even better in person. Saw one today at GC and it looked the best out of all the other colors. And they pretty much had them ALL!.

Wow, awesome responses. Thanks everyone!

Still not sure on black though. :/ Tough decision for sure.

Update: I think you're all right. Black is growing on me more and more by the moment. I think that's what I'll land on.

Anything else I should keep in mind on the AL HH? I'm going without the trem, but my Silhouette Special has trem, so no big loss. I like the idea of the strings threading through the body itself.

I would ge the trem. I've had hard tail ALs and I don't believe there was a noticeable difference in tone. I used to hate terms, too. Until I played the EBMM vintage style trem - so smoooooooooooth. Now, I wouldn't get an EBMM wiithout one. Try and find one to test out. - they reall are fantastic! Just my two cents.

Absolutely! The trem on this guitar rules.
