Hello, and NGD, Radium Kaizen

One thing that surprised me a little, and this should have been obvious if I'd done a little research is that this came with the trem decked, which I gathered r is standard practice. I'll probably keep it that way, since I have another guitar with a floating Floyd, but I've been eyeing used Sabres, and I was curious if other. folks are successfully setting up their MMs to float,

Nice score! I love my Kaizen - easily my favorite guitar to play now. I love love LOVE the neck - everything about it from shape to multi scale its just perfect. Whether you decide to float the trem or not, I recommend sticking with the same string gauge unless you are comfortable adjusting the nut slot width. They nut slots are cut very tight to spec for the recommended gauge - which is great! But I tried to go up a gauge and ran into that issue. Also - intonation must be adjusted if you switch gauge. These things are like Ferraris - every little thing matters in the set up!!!

Good to know. I will probably leave this the way it is, as I like to keep one decked or fixed bridge guitar around. I may buy a Sabre and float that.

Nice score; had my Kaizen since July and it’s quickly earned a permanent spot amongst my every day players. The “Ferrari” analogy is perfect. I had some intonation frustration in the early going, but if you set up correctly, step by step, and don't take shortcuts, you end up with a very finely tuned and precise guitar that can handle anything you want to play with it.

So, the guitar is nice and light and sounds good, but the Steinberger Tuners are honestly a bit of a negative. It takes longer to restring this one than my other guitars.

Also, I got home from a 3 show run today and decided to change strings tonight, so I am ready for practice this week, and one of the set screws on the top piece (the one you use to actually clamp the string) is just gone. It was there last Wednesday when I strung the guitar up. Now, a quick search reveals they are M3x6mm, and I just ordered 10 spares, but it's not an ideal design.

I should probably order a spare tuner or set, not something I've really ever had to think about with any other guitar. It looks like EBMM doesn't sell them.

Again, guitar plays fine, sounds good, looks good, but it gives me pause if I have to worry about reliability.
