hello everybody!is my stingray active or not?

First of all i want to say hello to everybody in this community,i'm a new member from italy.
here is the question:
with the 3 band active eq in the middle position(no cut or boost)on my stingray 5 is the bass active,passive or what?

the bass has an active preamp. setting the EQ to the middle ("flat") doesnt change the fact that the preamp is active.

so you think is better to plug the bass in the active input on an amp for example?

I would only plug into the active input on an amp if it was clipping the passive input.

i know a bunch of people that plug their MMs into the passive input. they say they like the sound that way.

I do plug mine in the passive input my GK 1001RBII. And yes, I do like it much better. The volume is harder to handle, but the punch and responsiveness are much higher. The pre-amp clips from time to time (slapping the E open), but I don't mind. I read in some manual that, if the clip led doesn't shine all the time, there's no need to plug it in the active input.
