I bought my first MM Ray on Saturday...what an instrument. I don't have a digital camera, but here is a link to the dealer with a picture of my bass the Autumn Burst one:

I don't know how long the image will be there, since the instrument is no longer in their inventory.
I've only been playing bass for about 10 months now, also own a Fender American Jazz V, & a Jack Casady Sig. My name comes from one of the last songs Charlie Patton recorded before his death in 1934. He is my music idol because of how/what 1 person could do with an acoustic guitar. I played guitar for about 30 years before switching to the bass, years of my job has taken it's toll on my hands & trying to fret those small strings became next to impossible. Wish I had picked up the bass 30 years ago.
I would like to have gotten a 5 string Ray, but I look at the 4 with the egg guard & the chrome plate for the knobs, it is awsome. The 5 with the over sized guard & no chrome plate just did not make it for me. Guess if I need a 5, I always have the Fender.
I've always liked Ernie Ball products, used slinky's on my Les Pauls, volume pedal & other various odds & ends. Found this forum a few weeks ago & got interested in a Ray. Went to the local GC last week, they had a few & a couple Bongo's, they played nice but the color choices just did not do it for me. Then I saw this one on Woodsy's web page & it was love at first sight. Drove down to Kent on Saturday since it is only about 45 min from me & that was all it took. I'm hooked. Already thinking about getting another MM when this one is paid off, but have no idea which yet.
