Another new boy. Just wanted to comment on these here Musicman guitars..After owning a ton of guitars over the years I am a recent convert. I never really settled on a guitar I was comfy with. Looks, mojo, feel, sound, playability, weight all play their part. Have gone through Les Pauls (R8), Fenders (Custom Shop 61 relic strat, and a Clapton blackie, reissued teles, and a PRS sc245.
The Ball experience began when I advertised my tele on eBay. I was offered an Axis Supersport in exchange. That got me curious and two days later in a service station 100 miles from home, I came face to face with my first Musicman. It was stunning, so the looks were there. Ha, thought I, probably won't feel very good...I picked it up and got my hand round the neck. Blown away, and agreed the swap there and then. Drove home hoping it would sound the part. Plugged it into my Mesa Lonestar special and nearly had kittens. Wow, talk about a crisp clear sound. I love it. These things are not a shredders only guitar, they are versatile and can do blues so well..
Anyway after that and again thanks to eBay, I swapped my CS 61 reliced Strat for a Steve Morse Y2D limited edition honey burst with roasted neck. Stunning bit of kit and boy can it growl. So, love my babies, and can't see them going anywhere ..happy bunny. These two bad boys can cover any style and will always create some serious trouser movement. Interesting that two days after getting my Y2D I noticed the guy I bought it off was back on eBay trying to sell the Strat. Says it all really. Anyway Hello...
