Hello from France !
This is my first post on this forum that I discovered not so long ago.
I need some technical help with my bass. I tried to search the forum and the web without many results.
I'am the proud owner of a (supposed) '91 stingray 5, which I bought secondhand about 10 years ago in the US.
Here's the sad story:
The previous owner of the bass turned it into a stratocaster !
He had the pickup configuration changed and added 2 bartolini JB pickups, as well as a 5 position pickup selector.
I may post some pics of that ugly thing
Some time ago, I decided to have the bass brought back to its initial state and to get rid of those extra pickups, which wouldn't add anything but a thumbrest.
I ordered a new MM pickguard, removed and soldered the pickups off the selector. Now, the pickup selection is not working anymore, the only sound is the serial pickup wiring, not single coil or parallel wiring anymore.
I've sent it to a qualified serviceperson in my area, he has ordered the original MM 3-way switch, but is confused with the wiring diagram, since the import company, which first complained because the bass was not purchased here in France, and then mailed him the only schematics they have, ie a '96 diagram, which has nothing to do with my pickup+preamp...
Does anyone owns the right diagram and would be kind to send it to me, or could some give me the directions to get it ?
Any help would be highly appreciated ! my next gig is in 10 days !
