Hi

I have a axis guitar -- I would like to put some other pickups in for a change --
I don't want to rule out a chance of putting them back in

I would like to put in some Fralins -- which look like gibsons

Any suggestions - on how to shim it -- I can get a flat foot pickup -- which has no height -- and i though i would use the tubing and a longer wood screw -- once i have it adjusted to the correct height -- use super putty or something to secure it so it wont move at all ??

So like a pain -- i hope someone has a better suggestion

thanks

I really like the guitar --

Hey Foc,

I hope this helps. I've done this many a times - back and forth!!

Generally speaking:
1. Check the spacing of the original pu and the acquisition pu - make sure same.
2. Check for any "wiring" concerns, mod's etc. .that may need to be done to accommodate the acquisition pu.
3. When taking off the orig pu and pulling the wires thru tie a piece of string/wire etc.. to the end of the pu wire so that you now have a way to pull the other pu back thru (a little soap is ok on the wire insulation to make them slide easier)
4. the pu frames probably won't be identical: determine it you are going to have to place a little "platform" under the acquisition pu frame to make it taller. You can also do this to set the pu height. If you need to lower the aquisition pickup you probably have to sand the wood (either that or cut the frame).
5. the frame screws of the orig pu probably won't fit the acquisition pu. Determine which one you are going to modify.
