Hi all my name is Adam
I am new to bass and have just bought a really nice 2007 3eq 4h I was looking online and see people talking about a weak g and a thin tone
I would imagine this has been asked on here before I have tried searching but nothing is coming up could any please give me any advice on what this means and if it is actually a problem as it the bass feels so much to hold but am just starting out any advice you could give me would be amazing and i would be so grateful to you all

Hi Adam. Welcome to the Forum.

The "weak G" is/was a problem that some players had with the 2EQ preamp in that the G string sounded too thin compared with the other strings. I noticed it with only one of my 2EQ Basses but found it could be remedied by reducing the bass control.

This should not be a problem for you as your Bass has a 3EQ which is totally different to the 2EQ preamp.
