Hey folks,

Looking to get some more information on a music man JP6 I picked up used off of craigslist around 2009. The serial number is G17726, which I believe puts the date of manufacture around 2002. The person i bought it from made a number of modifications like adding a push/pull for coil splitting. I am particularly interested if anyone can help me identify the pickups, as they look different from the ones installed in the JP6 during that year. I'm not sure if this is enough information, but I've attached a picture here

Thanks in advance!

Hi Burtman, welcome to the forums.
The bridge pickup has most likely benn changed to a D-sonic because that was the bridge pickup that was stock on the JP 6 at that time. I believe the Crunch lab made its appearence somewhat later. But I am not sure about the changes of the neck pickups they did to the production models of the JP.
Cheers Mikey

That is not a factory neck pickup - the original pickups in the JP6 model used hex screws for pole pieces, and also had a black baseplate.
The bridge, as mentioned above, is likely a D-Sonic, unless it was recently swapped for a Crunch Lab. Being that it has a black baseplate, it is most likely a MusicMan factory D-Sonic (aftermarket DiMarzio have a brass colored baseplate)

The baseplate on the underside of the neck pickup will be stamped with a model number (if DiMarzio). It's easy enough to check the next time you restring the guitar.
