Help! I'm hearing country music!

Bongo 5 HHP going through a no-name cable into a GK MicroBass: I moved, and at the new home, whenever I plug Bongo, the setup picks up the local country station. Tried a couple different cables, same deal. Only happens with the Bongo...my acoustic-electric guitar plugged in is silent. And (as far as I've noticed) only happens at home.

Any ideas on what to do to get rid of the reception?

Tried it with a Korg Pandora--does the same thing. Nothing with the Acoustic Electric, static and Country with Bongo. But that's a headphone amp--I can scrounge up another real amp to experiment with.

I have had this happen in my house, but only with tube amps for e-guitar or with a Tone-Bone for e-guitar, again with a tube inside.

But you don't have any tubes, do you?

Also, what if you tried a power conditioner??

Have you tried plugging it into a different power source? I assume your plug is grounded?

Try plugging your amp into different outlets around the house. It could be a poorly grounded outlet. Otherwise, tune the Bongo to another station.

It's a solid state amp. Plug's grounded. Tried outlets all over, but music still there, though reception is better in some locations than others. Psycho, it's new country. I think.

Going to research power conditioners.

Now I know how I picked up country so easily when I started a few years back..........it was the Bongo!

Wait for the band to go on break or whip out the tin foil and make an anti-antennae. We used to have to do that west of denver at sam's on lookout mountain. You have to face the right direction and hold your bass at the right angle also.

this happens at my house with some gear. ive heard its a grounding issue (not in the bass)

I used to practice right under the 700WLW tower - on of the more powerful AM stations in the country. On house I got nothing but the station, the other house we practed at, which was about 75 feet closer, was clean. Grounding and wiring can do funny things.
