Thanks for all the info! I am not familiar with the silo's.
In your opinions are the "dimarzio hot rails on the neck & middle.........& a duncan bridge" an upgrade of the originals ??? What type sound do these pickups give.

No, not an upgrade, just different.

Imo, the BIN is about $200 too high, considering the dings and mods. I paid $700 for each of mine off eBay. One was NOS and the other was minty.

And, imo, you'd be better off starting with a stock instrument. Then you have a base or standard to work from, should you decide to change out pickups and such. Stock ones generally fetch a better price on the used market, too.

I agree with Candid. See if you can get a stock one first and then if you want to modify to suit your own tastes you can go in that direction, plus be able to return it to original condition.

The DiMarzios in that guitar are actually single sized humbuckers, so it even further changes the tonal palette originally designed into the Sil Spec

Plus, with the pink pick up and white guard on the pastel green guitar I think the only place you could play it is at a coctail party in the Hamptons:)

thanks guys - i definetly agree that the price is way too high, would not offer near that much.
as for the cocktail party - maybe i could find a rainbow strap!!!
