Surprisingly no beagles were fing'd in the making of this thread, this axe is straight from California.

She had been a "California Gurl" all her life, from SLO to the Bay Area.....and then headed east.......

Congrats Pete, what a nice guitar..........

Awwwwright, here's my quick take on the tonality of this axe/pickup combo:

Hot 'n bothered!

While I am a big fan of the original pickup combination and really didn't care for how the D-sonic sat in my personal mix, the CrunchLab and LiquiFire are screaming awesome in this guitar. To tell the truth I was actually worried about plugging the guitar into my rig and not liking the sound, figuring that it would be very close to the BFRs that I had played through it when they first came out. I was pleased to find out I was wrong. The overall balance of the pickups seemed more even to my ears, along with increased output. Before tweaking the amp I left it at my normal settings for the basswood JP and plugged in this beast and was blown awway! I ran it for around an hour last night just getting used to the different sounds and forearm contour, and then it was dinner time.

I will try and get a decent vid or mp3 recorded this weekend after I tweak the setup a little bit. It's time to start hunting for a good backing track!

Hey Pete, congrats on that guitar! That is such an awesome color and sick quilt. I'm glad you like this one, since I do remember you telling me how you didnt get along with the BFR versions before. And yea, tell me about needing help!!! I got the LUKE from you just over a month ago, and I'm totally GASing for a Y2D! And I DO like the one you've got in stock...but I have to be patient :(.
