I am planning to buy this particular JP6 model. The guy bought it from another guy and he's asking for $850. He claimed that it's a JP6 , but from what I can see that it might be BFR JP6. But I am confused cause bfr jp6 has dimarzio crunchlab in the bridge but here it's clearly not the crunchlab. Then which pickup is it? I am confused... Please help (I have managed to find a canadian website which has the similar pickup but it didn't mention the name of the pickup.. it's the second picture)

Have them send you some better shots and the serial number.

You can check the serial number here:

From the image it's a non-piezo guitar, not switch on the upper horn. There isn't the BFR logo in the 12th fret position from the image as well.

Good luck, Glenn |B)

As Glenn noted it doesnt have the BFR Logo at the 12th Fret, looks like a non-piezo JP6 Standard in Black with either Steve's Special and Air Norton or D-Sonic Pickups, if they are still the stock Pickups.
I don't remember if the D-Sonics had a Blade in the Bridge Pickup, but they came before the Crunchlab and Liquifire.
The Shape of the Trem Baseplate roughly dates the Guitar before 2012, they removed the Cutout where the Tremarm is inserted and made the Baseplate fully rectangular in 2012 (roughly)

finally found out that it's jp6 from 2002-04, and it's been used in hundreds of shows,,, gonna pass this deal as I think 850$ is not fair for me....

$850 US? Not a bad price as long as it's in good shape. Did they send you any more pics?

It’s a decent price depending on condition. There’s no piezo and the headstock is natural. It also looks like it has dot inlays. I really like the d sonic bridge pickup a lot. Only real question is condition of the frets. They won’t be stainless steel and the gtr may be due or over due for a re fret.

The one thing I dislike about the first JP6 is those small frets. I'd take the opportunity to refret it with big jumbo SS frets.
