help me kill some time!

So as most of you know Ive got 2 2 pup Sterlings on order, an HH and an HS ... in order to combat the agony of waiting ive been doing whatever I can to pass the time.

Since my initial order was placed for the HS:
ive bought another Sterling (BC), placed another order for an HH, refurbished an older bass of mine, sold off 3 basses, got a new amp, played a bunch of gigs, started practicing a lot of tapping technique, almost bought 2 different Bongos, got JPs Rock Discipline DVD, played a bunch of guitar and have talked to the good folks at an amp company about hooking me up with a new head.

The point is: im running out of ways to kill time here guys. any suggestions?

I'm almost tempted to get the 2488 Tascam because I think they must be easier to deal with than the Korgs. Right? Anyone know?

And I hate to think about what I paid for my little Korg 8 track! But hey, that's the risk you take for being The First On Your Block.

I have a Boss BR-864 and I find it fairly simple to operate and it sounds great.

I started with a Tascam 4 track and a couple of basic keyboards, to an ADAT… I wound up with a three computer system, custom built for me by Florida Audio Computing, at that time a monster system... One for sequencing and recording audio, one for VSTi’s and other stand alone synth programs and virtual samplers, and the third one was a master library (2 HD’s with 4 removable HD’s). All networked together and it kicked ass. But it was a lot of work, steep learning curve and way too technical, not flowing and musical... for me anyway.

I went nuts…

I stopped all the DAW stuff when I discovered the bass guitar…

Still a lot of money, but flowing and musical... if you know what it mean.

Well, I feel old now, because I started with a Tascam reel....what were those called? 3340s? Something like that.....a bloody four track reel to reel. My drummer and I went in on one together in maybe 78 or 79.

God knows what we paid for it. You could probably buy a 24 track digital for that much now. Lord, we had fun with that thing.

It must have been a good idea, though, because he went on to produce and engineer records for all manner of famous people.
