But a 20th SR5 is a thing to behold.

indeed and that's why i listed "SR5" in the poll.

honestly - im sure its amazing cuz MM made it and jack loves it... but i'm a 4 string guy. id hate to have an amaizng bass like that and not give it as much attention as it deserves.

converting me to a 5 stringer will be a tough thing to do.

and practically speaking - i like new & bright sounding strings. I have a big stash of 4 string sets and i change strings way too often. id be afraid that this would also add to me not playing the sr5 as much as it deserves to be played.

now, im sure its a damn nice bass and im tempted - but practically speaking, i dunno how much love a 5 string would get at casa de phatty - but i have NOT ruled it out.

If I were younger

its time for a new Ball and I thought I'd put a poll and see if you guys can help. anywho...QUOTE]
OK so yer no noob in these parts so my opinion don't count ... but anywaze, if I weren't so stuck on SR5s and I had to startshopping now for a new Ball, I'd be leanin' partial to a Bongo 4 H/Piezo :cool:or a Sterling 4H/Piezo:cool:, but especially cuz yer no noob, I'm gonna boast once more about the delights of the SR5 h /Piezo:)

even so, if yer gonna pass on the H/Piezo, git yerself a brand spankers new 20th SR5 H:) in California Sunset:cool:

You have enough 4 strings already!!!

I voted SR5, but only because Bongo5 was not listed. You need a low B!!!

true. i have 9 4 string basses. 7 MM and 2 non-brand parts basses i (had) put together.

now, the 20th sr5 has given me impure thoughts. its given me thoughts that no other 5 string ever has. they're beautiful and the ed freidland videos showcase the tones it has amazingly. its hard to resist - but honestly, a 5 string just isnt me. i wish it was cuz id be all over a 20th - but its not.

You already know what I think Arin, but i'll say it again........You should really try the Bongo. Being someone that loves active basses I know you would really have some fun with it. I'm thinking a 4HH in Egyptian Smoke with a black pickguard would be awesome:)
