Help me understand this forum

I have tried several times to post pictures for various threads from my gallery, and every time it "has to be approved", and they have never showed up. Is there a right of passage here?

You just link from a hosting site such as photobucket. No rite of passage or anything. But as it is a manufacturer sponsored site they understandably like to keep it to only EBMM guitars.

They need to be approved because you are a new member, I had to have my messages approved when I first joined this forum too.

For new members with low posts, we prevent posting links and pictures until approved by a moderator. Sometimes that's quick, sometimes it takes a few days (like when certain moderators go away for the weekend with no Internet access ...)

It's there to prevent spammers from coming in and posting offensive material. It happens a lot ... most of you guys would have a pretty good laugh about the stuff we have to filter out.

Yeah I remember a couple years back, a couple guys came in and just posted pornographic material. For the kicks and giggles. Terrible really. I'm glad the rule is here, we've had no such incidents since then.
