um

When in doubt, maybe it's wise to diagram the wires so you know how to re-attach them? Maybe put little numbered pieces of tape on each wire, with a matching number taped to the one to which it was soldered?

Just a friendly suggestion...

I fear it may be too late in this particular case, but let this be a lesson to you kids out there.......

Where are you located? Maybe we can find someone to help, or at least show you a bass that is put together correctly so you can compare.

Or, and this is just another friendly lesson for anyone out there wanting to do stuff to their basses, why not detach the cables from the circuit board instead, where there are actually helpful color indications printed on the board itself?

I am actually a bit curious avbout why anyone would remove the board like this??? Pick ups without leads, now there's a novel idea;-)

Sorry OP, for some reason I just find the whole thing hilarious...

Okay, let's not pile on. It doesn't matter WHY the thing is out; it is and it wasn't done in a way that would facilitate getting it back in easily.

I guess the schematics that are online would help? One of you Soldering Gurus give this guy some solid advice now that we've established it was not the best idea ever, mmmkay?

ok ok, well on the board itself, each contact should be labeled fairly simply. that bunch of four looks like they connect to the switch in some way, though i'm not too sure how. If i had my SUB handy, i'd check for you, but i don't. If you had taken the wires off from the other end, it would have made life much easier for you, as it's colour coded on the board. You'd just better hope it's colour coded on the switch, if not, well i have no idea.

As for the other two bunches of three, one will be for the battery, and one will be for the jack. the one for the jack will be labeled T, R, and S on the board, for tip, ring and sleeve. On mine the jack is on the board, so it's wired differently. As for the battery, one will be +'ve, one -'ve and i'm not sure about the third. what does it say on the circuit board?

Don't take me word for word though, i'm no wiring guru, but everything should be labeled fairly simply.

Does that mean that whoever fitted a S/Duncan board also fitted a S/Dunc pickup? It wouldn't make sense because SD only suggest to fit that board when you use their pickup. As an upgrade not meaning that it necessarily needs it.
