So it's that time where we evaluate the past year and consider what to do a bit better for the next. The biggest personal complaint we have these days is about the monitor mix and "who doesn't want to hear what".

We do our own sound and have a modest medium-venue system. We are currently using a Carvin RX1200R rack mixer. I'd like to move to something of better quality and something with 4 monitor sends. Does not need to be rack mounted.

Any thoughts / past experience / recommendations appreciated.

Our new year begins with a January 2nd gig at our favorite venue - looking forward to improvements in our PA starting with the mixer...

Mods - if this is too far off topic, dump it, but I'm hoping for some direction for the folks I've come to know and trust here. :)

have a look at soundcraft gb2 or allen heath gl2400. both decent live mixers with 6 aux send (not all of them useable as monitor outs though ;))

Thanks - will do. I'm finding plenty with an abundance of AUX sends but none with four adjustable levels on the board...

I am considering the Carvin C1644 but I'm wondering if I can do better for the money.

Look at the Presonus Studio Live 16 4....GREAT board for the money and lots of features...As a bonus you can record every gig right into your mac or PC running the included Record program using only a Firewire cable!

Peace,
