Hi everyone!
I wanted to ask if anyone has any information about a new Majesty’s nut design?
I’m having a guarantee repair case one my Majesty and I sent it to a certified luthier here in Switzerland. I had a big surprise when I got it back seeing that the nut wasn’t the original one.
EBMM answered that they changed the design “slightly” and sent the most up to date nut… without giving any prior information or directions on how to set/file/finish it properly. Doesn’t look like a slight change to me…

Any info is very welcome.

Hi Joël, welcome to the forum!

If EBMM said it's the current nut then you have nothing to worry about. Installing a compensated nut is no different to any other nut. There are no special directions needed.

That doesn't look properly fitted to me. Your luthier should have removed excess material from the top after installing it and song the string depth. Easy fix.

No, it's fine. While many luthiers like to reduce the height of the nut to the strings (or even half the string over the top of the nut) it is not necessary.

I have never understood the war that some have with nut slots being "too deep" or something like that, as long as it doesn't interfere with playing or become a target for damage. Also if you are someone who is a fan of bends on the first three frets, you need a nice deep slot to keep everything in place.
