You'll need a minimum of 40w in a 1x12 combo to be able to play "live" and cut thru, with a little extra just in case the bass player has an Ampeg/Bongo set up.

Marshall DSL401 Combo

Personally I disagree that he needs a minimum of 40w , ive got a Tubemeister 36 and just got a matchless avalon 30 and both are more than load enough to play small to medium gigs .
Just my opinion of course.

Disagree here as well - I have a Mesa Mini Rec that will easily fill the bill - I play in a 6 piece cover band (80's stuff)...

Of the amps the OP mentioned - IMHO the Peavey Classic 30 is the easy choice.

I had a Peavey Classic 30, and I agree that it will be loud enough, they sound excellent, and they can be had for very cheap.

I have used (in many locations) a Fender Blues junior 15/18 watts.

A fantastic amplifier that also like pedals driving it's front end.

You can also sell this on no problem as there is always a market for BJ's
