Hi

I would be very grateful if anyone can help me determine a value for the following

94 or 95 stingray 3EQ, natural body with flame maple neck, string mutes

assume tip top condition in hiscoxs case

I am considering trading a bass for this stingray

$800 ish in the US, but where are you located? Are you in Aus? UK? That kind of changes the game a bit.

I've found that the most reliable source of current value information is the "completed" listings on ebay for similar instruments.

What we say it's worth and what you think it's worth is not relevant in any way. What someone is willing to pay on the open market is the ONLY thing that matters.

True enough, there's good information in that. I do think, however, that there are accepted 'norms' on used basses in good shape. (Not that those norms are always followed, even around here.)

In the US market, a super low price on that bass would be around 650. Absolute top dollar would 1000. The norm would be 850.

We have members in the UK and Oz who can give you a similar take on how it works there.
