Hi Guys, i need some good advices by you, after installing new pickups on my Guitar, when i play a serious funk patterns, the E string (1st) goes to hook on the neck pickup, i've tried to move down the pickup but nothing, the problem persists. My lutist told me that with this kind of pu sometimes could happen and the solution is to remove is and rewound with pickup tape, what do you think?

Steve Vai puts a little tape there on all his guitars. I can't think of another solution except playing softer.

Tape seems like a good first try. The other thing I thought of was to file down the trailing edge of that pickup so it no longer has a lip.
