Hey, sold the 5 (it will be departing for Germany tomorrow) and now I have the task of picking a new Bongo 4 which I want to order tomorrow. Let me know what you think (both H and HP options are on the table).

Traffic lights aside, I am partial to the shades of gray - Sapphire Black, Graphite Pearl and Egyptian Smoke with Moonstone or Abalone...

In HS or HSp... :D

Trust me Tiffs, I am wowed!!! You could have typed a whole buch of letters, said it was German and I would be..."WOW!" (what can I say, I teach English to 7th/8th graders... German is WAY outside the box for me:D )

Hey Ritch, I think Jack has a Ltd Ed. Bongo 4H on order that isn't spoken for. You could call dibs on that an have your new bongo pretty quickly here I would imagine.

I've owned a gold-hardware bass.

IMHO it looks cool now because of novelty and the "ooh" factor, but trust me...it does not have staying power. By the time I was done with my gold-hardware bass I just thought it looked tacky. There's a really good reason why you don't see more gold-plated hardware out there. Again, just MHO...nothing against you folks who are gaga over the LE.

Gold also doesn't wear well (unless EBMM has come up with some super-mysterious process that makes it more durable).

I voted DG/black ice (duh...look at my avatar). DG is a great color on-stage, reacts very well to different lighting, and looks killer with a dark pickguard. I prefer tort, myself.

My other current faves are CAR with some dark guard...prob black pearl...and carbon blue/abalone.

Oh, and PEE AY ZOE for sure!!!!!

My Fernandes had gold hardware and I never got tired of looking at it.

Although, this comes from a guy with a black pickguard on a bass with a white pup cover.
