Help with choosing combo amp.

Just saw this thread. I haven't played the vox stuff. I like the Roland micro cube (about $120) because it's so much in a small package, but if there's a drummer, you'd need to go bigger, like the 30 or 60. Can't remember if the 30 has effects built in like micro and 60.

I usually plug into the Spider when I go into GC to mess around as they always seem to have a few. Usually get some nice tones outta that too.

Might have to try Vox next time I'm in based on other's comments.

Roland Cube gets my vote - after meeting Koogs and kbaim in Cali we played through two micro cubes - I bought one on my return to the UK because they had tone for days - you will not be dissapointed.

I have to agree on the Cube. The micro cube at around a hundred bucks sounds great. Also, in the 250 range you can get the Cube 30 model which really kicks for that price. I love those little amps!

I gotta chime in on the Cube 60 as well. I bought the MicroCube after getting back from SLO and loved it. I wanted something with a little more ooomph and bought the Cube 60 last week and don't regret a thing. That amp rocks. I really appreciate the heads up from Dennis and Tommy on the the 60...

I'm also looking at a little 1/2 watt tube amp (Gilmore Jr.) that looks really cool. It's a kit that I plan on buying real soon. I'll let you know how that goes.

Get the Cube. Excellent amp. I bought the Micro Cube after it got such praise at the open house. Cant go wrong with them!
