hello bought a sting ray 2 rd hand but itsonly 6 months old, but of the lacuer is starting to bubble near fret board will this continue sprending??do i have a leg to stand on as i bought it 2rd hand???iam worried this is going to ruin my bass, please any help would be much appiecated.ross

I don't think it's going to be covered under warrantee since you bought it used. Can you post a pic? Maybe if we can see what exactly is going on with it, someone here will have a viable solution for you.

Since it's impossible to know what sort of stress that part of the bass has been subjected to, I can promise you it won't be a warranty issue.

And since it's impossible to say where it's been, it's going to be REALLY hard to say why it happened, whether it's going to continue, etc etc.

What's the serial number and finish (color) on it?

It may not be covered under warranty,but try to post a pic the guys here will try to help you out and tell you how to fix it.

Laquer near the fretboard? EBMM has not been putting finish on the necks for some years now...the only finish on a neck would be if it has a matching painted headstock or it's a 30th anniv StingRay.

What color is your bass? matching headstock?

i have something simular on my ray.

it seems that it gets a hit and some of the finish gets detached.
maybe someday it fall off. but i don't think it get any worse.
