I have started having a problem with my Steve Morse. The tune-o-matic style bridge lowers itself while I am playing.

I always change strings before each gig and I have noticed that by the end of the night the bridge has bottomed out again, causing the low E string to start fretting out. I considered getting it set and possibly shimming the adj. wheel, but was going to see if anyone else had this problem.

It does not appear to be stripped out. Once I bring it back up, it stays. I tried putting some pressure on it and it will not drop on it's own. So, I assume it has to do with string vibration.

The bridge pickup also lowers itself through the night as well. Very strange stuff. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Wow...that six seems to be doing some weird things. I'm just curious as to if you sleep with your back to it at night. :p

Perhaps Jon or norm could throw a little advice your way about this "poltergeist"...? I'd think, at first glance, that it's something to do with, as you said, vibration or tension adjustment a la new strings.

Just my take (and scary humor)...

I should have stated that all better. It takes place at night, but I meant during a performance night. As I play through an evening, the guitar seems to make these adjustments for me, or should I say against me.

that is soooooo friggen wierd man!!!!!!!! i can imagine why a tune o matic would be moving on you !!!!!!! the string tension and not to mention the threads should keep that thing in place!!! !!!!!!!!! idk!!! im sorry to hear that though man!!! I have played many guitars with tuneo's and have NEVER NEVER EVER EVER heard of that!!! or had that happen. have you taken the tune o matic off and inspected the threads on the screw that adjusts the height? mabye you need a new thumbwheel? id tear that apart and find out whats up...well not tear it apart but you know what i mean. it shouldnt be too complicated of a fix though. maybe new inserts? Is the guitar still under warrenty? If so give Jon a call... he's on the forum from time to time... jongitarz ... VERY COOL GUY!!!!!!!! trust me...
