I used to play a lot Mancini's stuff on horn. A prolific genius in my book.

We played Baby Elephant Walk in 5th grade band. Moon River's a classic for its day. Pink Panther theme will outlive us all.

Yeah, he was ok.

I'll take Hoagy Carmichael (spelling?) or the Gershwins over him anyday, though.

Love Mancini's work, it's timeless. He was a great human being as well---very big in my book.
