Funny story ... I had a guy working for me that had one, looked like a Ferrari. He would rack up parking tickets, but got out of all of them by calling the city, acting confused and telling them he drove a Pontiac, not a Ferrari. Brilliant.

Hahaha thats the shadiest thing ever!

Ha!! That's ridiculous!

When I was about 10, my school bus backed over a Fiero... I bet it became a lambo/Ferrari after that.

You just can't drive a Fiero-turned-lambo without Jean shorts (or "jorts") and a fluorescent tank top... and you'd probably be a drummer. ;)

Ok. Couple things

1) Its gonna remain natural on the top. Rest easy boys :D

2) got the posts installed and got the ... "questionable" areas flattened out. Believe it or not, it looks like crap, but its actually close to being finished. All I ask, is let me FINISH before judging anything here.

I love it, personally i would have gone with zebras and no pickup rings, and the cream volume knob, but that top is great! Cant wait to see it after about 50 coats of clear and wet sanded and buffed!

The guitar was butchered before I started mate. The person before me routed (probably used a dremel) it out for EMG's so the routes were very sloppy. As I don't have official templates, I had to follow the original routes of the body (sucks, but I knew this going in). So the rings were mandatory going in. Obviously since it had emg's the original zebra pups were long gone, and Im not about to spend another small fortune on BKP's haha. Just gimme a few more days, it'll make more sense.

Also, the guitar will get 1 coat of clear, I don't use cheap stuff :) (PPG high solids 2k urethane)

Oh yeah , and som
e binding! I love me some binding!

Just wait, I'll make sense.

It is looking great! I love the matching wood covers for the back.
The black toggle kind of jumps out at you. If the pickup rings and knob were black, I would like it more.

Are you gonna mask off the edge of the top, so it looks like binding, like the peavey usa maple flat tops?

thats exactly how Im gonna do it :) The top will get an amber stain that I will sand back, so the top will be a touch darker than the sides too.

THE SWITCH WILL BE CHROME haha

Cmon! Pics!

Nothing overly pic worthy. I sorted all the dings, holes, and imperfections in the body (trust me, there were tons. This guitar hasn't been well taken care prior to my possession). One thing I did do, every single hole has been reinforced with hardwood oak dowels. The trem post anchors, strap anchor holes, even the cavity controls have been hollowed out and reinforced with oak dowels. Basswood just isn't structurally strong to have any abuse. The dowels were precisely hammered through a steel plate, hollowed out with precise drill bit then epoxied in. Stripped holes? Not on my watch.

As for the switch, as promised, its gonna be "fixed" haha. And check out these sweet pickups a friend made!

Those pickups look super cool. Would love to see some pics of the body reinforcing process. I am all intrigued after reading how you went about it.
