Hey Bob:

Yeah, that's an interesting question: Why hasn't EBMM done a Koa top Axis? Looks like you'll have to make one!

-Jeff

I'd build one, but Im pretty sure sterling would have a stroke on me hahaha

edit: I assume thats your axis I linked. That is quite possibly the most striking guitar I've ever seen to me.

Yep, that's my Axis. It has an amazing Roasted Maple BFR quilt top, Roasted Maple neck, pretty sure it's an ebony fretboard with BFR inlay, and gold hardware. Love it.

Jeff was that kind of guy who let me hold and admire it's beauty on that day he bought it. There were others too, all with a Sold note firmly resting under the strings. Some other redwood axis too if I recall, right Jeff?

I bought my spalted maple Axis the same day. I didn't buy the redwood one -- I think a knucklehead bought it though. I forget (getting old). I think maybe that was a hardtail (which isn't my thing).

My 17 year old son, Eric, has the redwood Axis hardtail. You can tell by the mirror who I bought it from.

I need to know this story. How exactly is an 80s R&B/pop singer's mirror being discussed on a guitar forum?

Hi, This is a different Keith Sweat; this one is just a regular guy on the forum, like you and me. He's a great guy. He takes pictures in front of that mirror often, so over the years it has become iconic.

Any news Bob?

Haven't seen Bob around lately...

PMed him a week or so ago that if he knew of a guy with some extra spalted maple lying around, and the brains to do something with it - that I might now of a guy with a Morse lying around to put it to! :)

No word back though...
