Paul is one of my favorite players. Puts on a hell of a guitar clinic as well. Super nice guy. :cool:

I remember hearing Paul locally a few years before he went out to GIT (as a student) and he was a great player even then!

When the 1st Racer X album came out, I wanted to give up the guitar!

Love his twisted sense of humor, too.

That's from the Balance tour. He, supposedly, didn't want to play solo's like that anymore, everyone else pushed him to do it. Thus it is rushed and, believe it or not, not overly great, for Ed.

Try find one from the 1984 or 5150 tour.... it's like a different player. ;)

Note: He's playing his EBMM, so that's early or midway through the tour. Toward the end he was playing ... err, other instruments.

EVH in this video has a Fernandes sustainer pickup in there. Shame he cant play like this now, rushed or not!!

I saw Paul Gilbert clinic once, he played Led Zep and Sabbath riffs over a Spice Girls song! It was awesome!
