I noticed you play an SM-500 which has a great sounding pre and is considered by many to be a classic.I used to play an SM-400S myself, however I find that the GK pre sounds much more like my bass does straight to the board and requires much less EQ tweaking to find a pleasing sound. Anyways, just my 2 cents. That's all.
Don't be modest,
Your 2 cents is appreciated, always.
I am getting more of the natural sound of my bass since I 12 o'clocked everything, with treble/transparency and bass at 2 o'clock. I always keep my bass slightly boosted on the bass itself, as well, with mids and treble centered. Unless, I really need to cut through, then it's mid-boosting time!
But as I continue to love Ampeg, I can't help but think how great it would be to have neodynium cabs on hand. I know Ampeg just debuted some practice amps with neo speakers, which makes me wonder who's spying on who these days.
Hey, maybe you can tell me what the difference(s) is (are) between the Backline Series and the rest.
