Hey everyone, I just joined the EBMM family today. This is my first post...

There was a guy selling a SUB 1 locally. After reading up on here how great they're liked, I decided to grab it. It was in pretty dirty shape, very neglected. All original though, with the trem & locking tuners and orig. pickups. Some minor nicks & scratches on the headstock, but otherwise mint.

After an hour on my bench, its a whole new animal! She really cleaned up nicely. Filed down a few high frets, polished them all, treated the fingerboard, basically dismantled the whole guitar, cleaned each part, and reassembled it. I even polished the trem block, since it was all apart.
Nice chunk O' Brass!

I would really like to get another pickguard for it, not diggin' the diamond thing too much.

It plays & sounds amazing. I've done setups for customers Axis' and a Silhouette and I loved them too. So I snagged my first one.

I don't like Floyd Rose systems, so this is perfect for me.

Subs are cool. Congrats on your purchase! I made a score on one years ago and I leave it at work to practice sometimes at lunch.

thanks everyone. Just noticed, if you look closely, you can see the polishing compound I used on the pickups stuck in between the coils :)

Welcome ER and congrats on picking up a great SUB. Never seen one in the flesh but all comments are very favourable that it is a great axe.

Wish you had told us you had your cleaning kit out as we could have formed
an orderly queue at yr front door:D

Enjoy

Cheers

Beware of modding. You won't know when to stop and will spend $texas on the guitar. Here's my sub that used to look just like yours. A silhouette special pickguard will fit your sub 1 (not a 24 fret silhouette one, though)....

thanks for all the warm welcomes...the only mod this is getting is a new pickguard. The stock hummers are really nice and can't see changing them.
