Very nice, Fred!

I've got to get myself another Axis Super Sport one of these days.

Fred, every EBMM you've owned has had a BFR type top (including that Y2D you once owned ;)). Have you signed a deal at the crossroads?

Great looking guitar Fred. The Axis and it's offspring are my favorite models. Track down a HSS Sport and put one of those in your stable.

Awesome Fred. I thought Honey Burst was lighter....now, I have another hard choice to make here soon....that is gorgeous.

The top sucks though. ;)

Thanks for all the compliments... It really is a looker. I only had about an hour to play with it last night, but I was blown away. It sounds as good as it looks. This is my 3rd Axis/EVH and it's the best of the bunch hands down. I have no idea why, but it blows the others away. I'm almost tempted to say someone changed out the pickups on the other two, since I bought both as used guitars, it's that big of a difference. Very nice round sound.

I was playing with the neck pickup into the Stiletto clean channel with a bit of chorus and it had this really nice Andy Timmons tone going on. I didn't expect that. Surprise, surprise, the bridge pickup is a monster. When I switched to the overdrive channel, it just screamed. I didn't even have to throw in the BB or RC.

I can only hope my soon to arrive MM90 version sounds this good.

Trust me I've been on the lookout for one. I have something very specific in mind though. Trans Yellow or Orange, with rosewood and natural headstock. I thought I had one but missed out. It had the SSS config. Is there enough room under the pickguard for a full-sized humbucker if I decided to change it out?

Nah, I'd call it karma... oh and I paid for the top on that Y2D, not that I passed that cost onto you though... ;)

Nice fred!

I had my frets polished on my axis ss mm90's and now I can't bring myself to part with it. Good thing you ordered new.

Don't rightly know. Never took my pickguard off. Mine's already an HSS. Best guess is that it would already be routed out for either configuration off the line. Phatty just put a lil 59er in his so I expect if you can't fit a full size in you can go that route.

I'll have a look at mine later on and let you know.

edit:
Actually, I think that it's routed for the the single coil. I seem to recall a picture somewhere around where they had taken the pickguard off. I'll still check though.
