I was playing with that toggle switch again last night (yeah, I play with it a bit too much) on my SR5 H/S, and spent some time on position 2. It has always sounded too thin for my liking. But I kicked the bass knob ALL the way up, and BOOM! The hugh amount of growl was incredible! It's like the original single pickup sound but with a boatload of growl added in. Makes sense. Position two uses only the coil closest to the bridge. Sorry, you HH owners. You don't have this option. (Does the switch on single H Rays allow you to select only the coil closest to the bridge?)

So now I have a new respect for position 2. I can just imagine Dudley and his team grinning from ear to ear when they first heard what this sounded like. Yowza!

That one is possible on the single H Ray. Middle position=single coil. It is a great tone with some low end dialed up.

The single H Ray doesnt have a selector switch. The only single pickup basses that have a selector switch of any sort are the SR5 and the Sterling.

Yeah but you HS guys don't get FOUR coils firing. Slicing guitarists is okay. Turning them into pulp is better.

That's just unprofessional.

Do you have an amp stand so your amp is pointing up at you?

I love the Bongo because it sets well in the mix and I can hear it without being loud.

That is a fun to set the SR5 to single coil and let it growl.

Tommy you and the drummer quit playing and let loud bass person solo all night.
