......think of it this way Smelly.....your guitars cost you about 10% of the money you wasted on that car that's depreciating at warp factor 7......and they've held their value.

so true that's the reason I never purchase new cars, I put my money in travel and guitars :p

Obviously as I play backwards, I have nothing useful to add to the AL discussion.

But as for the "last ever guitar" nonsense MY ARSE!!!!!!

The nature of an addiction is that the victim always thinks he can control it......one last drink.....one more cigarette.
I remember vowing that my Martin J40 would be my last ever guitar in 1988 (it's still the most expensive one I've ever bought)...at the time I had 4 guitars.......last count was 23........think of it this way Smelly.....your guitars cost you about 10% of the money you wasted on that car that's depreciating at warp factor 7......and they've held their value.

I deeply envy you your "problem" in choosing which AL to invest in

LOL!

It's partly around lifestyle changes, want to do a lot more to my house, and not getting time/input from other musicians to do anything more than play along with backing tracks... so need another outlet...

that said, my dargie luke has had very little love lately - could be on the chopping block for a game changer, when I say no 'more' my body count won't increase, but sell one to buy one might make sense in my head.... as long as the numbers are right...

You've just freed up a space there!

The Dargie Luke now officially isn't Smelly's, meaning he can get another guitar to fill the void!
