isn't playing guitar all about getting your own sound?

+1 just had a great half hour (missus out) up in the man cave (or what ever the loft equivalent is) trying off the wall amp fx set ups. came across a great setting that I never ever would have tried and will use it mid week - ah the joys of experimenting.

Slightly off topic - I had my office party on Friday and had a great (covers) live band playing. The guitarist was going thro an Axe FX and two atomic tube monitors - he had every scenario covered - but the Axe FX I know is a lot of bucks!!

Regarding the AL sounds...they seem so similar..no preference taken by my jumbo sized ears....both sound great...but I too look for the *perfect* sounding guitar....I*ve found it several times...kinda like women...
