Does that mean the first batch of SR and Sterling HH's are close to shipping? I sure hope so. My 12 weeks will be up in early January.

That's exactly like the one the Atlanta GC is getting. Don't you work at GC? Is Guitar Center up to the ol' "Let's order 500 of the exact same bass and then blow them out below cost when no one buys them" again?

I'm expecting a call when the one coming to Atlanta shows up. I'm gas free, though, since it's only a 4 string. I still can't wait to hear the thing.

[crying crocodile tears] That's just sick. How can they be so badly mismanaged ..... ?

[reality check] I hadn't really paid the Boingos any attention at all. Did I really need a huge funny looking fretted 5? In general, absolutely not. But little did I know how much I need that Boingo tone [and that bright orange paint] til the local GC decided to make an "inventory adjustment". At the price it was offered, I could never sleep nights if I'd let someone else have it. Can't mention $$ amounts here, but I can say it would have cost me over $300 more in the same store to skip the 5HH and go for a 4HS. Go figger.

And two very lucky VBTC customers, I am told, will have their very own BUTTERCREME dual hummer Stingray 4s in short order.

Hmmm, maybe we DID order a thousand.

One of them is going to a customer and one the customer who ordered it backed out so it will be available and here in inventory. Pics forthcoming as soon as I get it in.

The only new 2 pup basses that will ship this year are the Limited Edition models.
By "this year" do you mean 2005? Just curious, because the more I play my Bongo the more patient I become waiting for my HH Sterling, but is there a timetable to begin shipping the other two pickup models?

I don't think you'll have any trouble unloading that baby.

Ahhhh yes but who says I'm gonna unload it??? How many Buttercream Stingray HH's were made? I know of only 2.

This sucker may very well get stashed under my bed.

I told the Dude we should have ordered a thousand.

Hmmm lets see if I grasp the "concept" here. So, if I order up 1,000 basses all in some color that won't sell I then get to blow them out at cost or there about just to move them out and thus make little to no profit on them?

I see...it's a non-profit deal!!!

If Big Pooper wants me to tell I will divulge.

Regarding GC here is something to consider: GC's ordering/distribution process is much more complicated than you guys are making it out to be. Imagine all the brands/sku's they carry. You may complain that they have only one to three colors per model per store, but you do at least get to play the instruments, and if you like the instrument but not the color you can always special order.
