Hi,

I've got two HH stingrays, gorgeous basses :D

Anyways, here comes the single problem I face.

I love the sound of the basses, however, I dont like the banding of the EQ. Dont know why, but cutting or boosting the bass/mid/treble on the bass just doesnt work for me.

Ive heard that a number of people who dont like the EQ on the 3 band, have far prefered the 2 band EQ.

Which is the first thing . . .

If I was to switch in a 2 band EQ, the jack socket would be on the front, or i'd use the side one, either way, something is left with a hole. Which got me to thinking. Piezos + blend!

Is there any way to go about buying a EB piezo bridge, the buffer circuit and a 2-band EQ preamp plate. If so, is there any way to get it all on the one control plate?

Just an idea, which i think would be pretty funky, plus give ultimate versatility :D

Nope. Piezo can't be placed in your bass without modification, and I really am not a fan of that idea.

In terms of your buffer circuit and the 2-band EQ, I'll wait for someone else to chime in on that. But I do know that you can't get the Piezo for your bass. I'm sure of it. I don't think they offer the 3-band for the dual pup models.

Sweet basses you have though.

Easiest way would be addition of an EB bridge with piezo saddles and the buffer control that comes along with it. That plus a standard EB 2 band EQ and a blend pot.

It isnt standard, but i just want to know if its possible to cobble them together and get something working. I would imagine it would be possible (worst case scenario, use a 3rd party preamp).

There's no way for you to buy an EB piezo bridge because they don't offer them for sale seperately. You basically have to buy a bass with piezo and then make the switch yourself.

At the moment, piezo is not offered with two-pickup Stingrays or Sterlings, so if you want factory-installed piezo on a two-pickup EB bass, you'll have to get a Bongo (which is a great bass as well).

I've never heard of that modification being done. I've found that most people here love their EB basses as they come from the factory, but it's cool if you want to do your own thing with your bass.

Hope this helps!
