I haven't even got it yet and I'm already thinking how it would look with a different pickguard. Or maybe even an all birdseye neck/fretboard. I know I'm getting way ahead of myself here but do any of you know where I might look for such a thing? The neck that is.

Anyway, I've always thought of myself as a modern, high tech kind of bass guy. I figured this would be a good move in another direction. Know anyone looking for a near mint Warwick Double Buck?

Yea I'm a big Zappa fan. But I haven't listened to any in a while. I think I have to go and dig up my old Joe's Garage album. Yea, I still spin vinyl. So what?

I'm really excited about trying out the new Stingray. I was on a 10 year bass hiatus till I bought my Double Buck last August. It's a really great bass. But I want to try out a double slapping technique. And with all the room those twin humbuckers take up combined with the close string spacing, there's just not enough room for my fat fingers. Besides, I found I was always dialing in a punchy, trebley tone that favored the bridge pickup anyway.

The only bad part is if I still suck at double slapping I won't be able to blame the bass.
