I'm new to the forum, although I've been lurking for several months. I'm slightly more active over at the Dudepit.

I'm a big fan of MM basses, and have owned a 2 Band SR4, 2 SR5's and 2 Sterlings. Even though I'm MMless at the moment, I think a Bongo 5er is in my future.

Anyways, just wanted to say hi. Hope to talk to you all soon!

Hi Tom,

Just curious... why did you drop the MMs? I don't have nearly the collection that many forumites have, but I couldn't sell a MM I bought... I am not slammin' ya, just want to know. :)

Thanks for the welcome guys. I do recognize a few names from over at the Dudepit, so at least I know what I'm up against! :D

I sold the MM's for various reasons, none of which had anything to do with the quality of the basses and most of which I regret.

Let's see...

I had a Stingray 5 (black/rosewood) I traded because I am stupid. ;-) The next bass, a trans orange Sterling w/ TI Jazz Flats, I sold becuase I was broke (I still miss that bass). After that, a couple years later came a blue dawn sterling. For the life of me I can't remember why I sold this bass. Chalk it up to stupidity again.
I then bought a graphite pearl Stingray 5, which I got because the store I got it from was out of stock of Bongo 5's. Shortly after that, I took posession of a rocking 2-Band Stingray. I had to sell that bass because of a situation with my car insurance.

Now, I want a Bongo. I will not stop until I get a Bongo. ;)

See you all around,
Tom

Yeah, I wish I hadn't made some stupid gear decisions... too bad we just don't have buckets of money to get everything we want... I wish I could have kept the basses I owned too.

Good luck in your quest for the Holy Bongo!

Cheers! :D

Hi Tom glad to meet you. Let me know if you're serious about a Bongo 5. I'd currently trade mine for a SR5 or sell it for ???
I just LUVS that Ray tone. Again welcome from your pal Spec.
