Okay, I'll try to make this as brief as possible though I do tend to ramble.

I've posted and responded to posts a couple of times but not being a "joiner," I haven't properly introduced myself. Since you all seem very nice and sincere, you've succeeded in pulling me out of my shell which is not easy to do!

I've always loved MM basses but have never owned one. I have a love/hate relationship with music and tend to buy things, start a new project, eventually it fizzles and then I get disenchanted and sell everything.

Well, I'm in a buying mode and walked into a store and saw a used '93 SR4 fretless that sounded great. I had no plans on buying a fretless (I had a fretless P years ago) as I was looking into getting a 5 string fretted that I could modify with a high C. Anyway, the MM was overpriced and I figured if I'm gonna spend that kind of cash, I might as well buy new.

So, I'm proud to say that I have ordered a SR4 unlined Honeyburst tort which should be in around the middle of May. (Ordered about a month ago.) Can't wait for my baby to arrive!

P.S. Of all the 5 strings I played (not just MM but any brand) I was leaning towards the Bongo. But 1. I would have to convince the wife for the $ and 2. I'm terrified of modifing a bass and then finding out I don't care for it. So, the wait goes on. (I still need a good amp and oh, someone to play with!!!!!)

Thanks for reading this long post. Looking forward to talking with you all in the future. :D

BP, could you talk with Heather about this... I am struggling with #6 (the Blue Dawn I am working for)... if I am supposed to have easy until #9 or so I need some one to set her straight (lord knows it won't be me - she stopped listening to me a long time ago;) )

Welcome to the forum! Honeyburst is a gorgeous color. It's my favorite EBMM finish.
