At first, I was dead set against the Bongo. It was something about the looks. Well, the other day, I decided to finally take one for a spin in a local music store. I was completely blown away. Not just by the tone of it, but also how comfortable and easy it was to play. I decided to buy it.

All I can say, in my opinion, is that the Bongo is the best bass to ever exit the MusicMan factory. I've owned Stingrays in the past, but this Bongo is awesome.

Here she is.

NICE...

I swore to my wife I would never need another bass as long as I live once I got my Sterling... and it's true. I can see my Sterling and myself living happily ever after in sonic bliss. She's all I ever could hope for in my 16 years of playing.

BUT...

Boy is the Bongo tempting as 'the other woman'. I'm just a huge fan of basswood bodies. I can imagine what EBMM have done with the Bongo (as a lefty that lives in the boonies, have not yet had the pleasure of sampling the Bongo's treasures!!).

Nice catch.

Very nice score! Until recently (like - today) I had the twin to yours. (I ended up with two HH Bongo 4s and that's just greedy.)

You're Navy? Retired CTI type here.

Jack

PS: Rumor is that there's a chief around, too.

Yep, I'm an ET in the Navy. Not a nuke, just a Surface ET.

Just left Camp Bovine today for CT:

It left with a tort guard, though - you should try it. Looks great on that finish.

Until last night I played the Bongo that Jack shipped off. I'm getting a single H 4 string Bongo pretty soon from Jack and Dude and my Dad was in the Navy in WW2.

Can you guys get me into the OC? I got the first round.

I'm glad you had the opportunity to live with one for a little while, Ray. The sale of that one now allows me to think about my next Bongo....single H, I believe, in a color I can love.

Thanks for coming by last night! I know it was only to return that bass, but Cowpilot values your input, sir.

I wanna be your man, but not in a funny way, heh heh,

Jack

Welcome to the forum or aboard Navybass. Wait until you have played that Bongo awhile and see how many more you end up with. You know they have 265 million color combos with all the different pick guards available?

That is a bit on the high side but.. Congratulations on your new Bongo.

Yeah, and my dad was part of the elite Navy parachuting team in El Centro, CA (back in the 50's)...does that count as well?
