Just saying Hi.
Me; 36yo finally with patience to learn guitar (old bass player).
From UK but live in Texas USA (moving back to UK in summer though as father has terminal cancer).
Own, Gibson LP Standard (Ebony, all as is for now)
Jackson SL4 Japanese Neck-thru Solist (twin humbucker) natural finish
And??????????
I need/want one more guitar before going back to UK.
I am a Rocker. More older like Lizzy,Ac/Dc,Priest, but also Metallica,Pantera etc.
Anyways, jsut saying hi and also want an EBMM education :)
Have bout $800 max, (with cars to sell etc. thats pushing it with fiance now lol).
Is an Axis a good bet for me?
Viable propostion?
Anything to watch out for?

Sure will think of more later lol.
Was looking at a single pup B.C.Rich or Jackson/Charvel, but this MM thing has grown on me :)

Thanks,
Nick

Welcome to the addiction!

For that kind of $$$ being your budget, you can get some kick ass used EBMM's on e-bay. However, new, you are looking at the SUB which in itself will blow away the BC Rich and the others in that price range.

I would hang out for a while as some of our forumites like to sell their gear and you can get a great axe at a great price right here.

WOW....that one is starting out cheap.....might get her way under your budget. Nice one from what I can tell.

Thanks for the welcome :)
So, an Axis is MORE than enough to cover the music I am into you think?
BTW, when move to UK will be getting an all tube Engl Screamer combo (if this helps).

The Axis will cover all your bases and then some! It is a killer axe and you will not be disappointed. You will discover your current guitar will become a lampshade or paperweight because you will never play it again! I guarantee it!

Am really digging the colour on the one I posted, hope it's for real and not "dodgy".

Great!!!!!!!!!
Cheaper the better, though my Evilbay luck is NOT good. Need to upgrade some pickups to bareknuckles so a deal is better :)
Love the colour too!!!!!!!!! Looks like has binding way it is done.
Is the selector slide older way than a switch or is it different models?
Do they have a good trem on them?
Also, know anything about a "Gravity Games" special edition?
Thanks from a still EBMM clueless newbie :)

Dude, you might want to check and see if they seller has the case for it. Otherwise, you'll want to get a case befpre you head back to the UK.

Axis is an awesome choice, like Koogie said it'l do the job +.

Good luck on the auction.

hay mate. The axis is fantastic...no modding needed. Straight to rock out of the box. Try it though the Peavey 5150 2x12 (or the new equivalent). Gain up to the eyeballs and sustaing for hours.

Great playability in these guitars and they feel very responsive in your hands. This helps a lot with self expression.

Get your hands on one and try to stop smiling (if you can......;))

Jonny.
