Hi guys im new here and this is my first post.
I just got my new EBMM axis just a couple days ago in the mail (UPS) and this thing is awesome! I had an EVH wolfgang special (mexico) and this EBMM knocks it out of the park! It makes the evh feel cheap! Anyways I just have a couple of questions. It seems that the action is kind of high for my personal preference and just wondering what i can do? I took out the nut shim and lowered the bridge a little to the point if i dive bomb the high e string part of the base plate is going to touch the body, but it still looks high compared to my evh. I was thinking of getting a neck shim but i have no idea where to get one! Another question is how do you guys setup of the trem? I would always set the trem flat on the body and then set the post where the trem sits but this trem is a little hard to tell where the post and the knife edges touch perfectly compared to the OFR. I didnt know if you guys had any better ideas.
thank you

I usually wait 24 hours for the guitar to acclimate to the weather after being shipped, but then again, Hawaii is a lot different from the mainland. After that, I always check the neck first then use the truss rod wheel to make neck adjustments. More times than not, this will be the thing to adjust to get the action you want especially if the guitar came from the factory.

I've never had to adjust anything but the truss rod on a brand new Axis.

My 1 day old Majesty came from the factory with realtively high action; low E at the 16th fret is about 5/64 which is OK but the high E is 7/64. Combined with an 010", this feels very foreign to me. I'm used to around 3 to 4/64 for a high E at the 16th fret and I usually use 008s. Would someone please confirm what the typicall Music Man Petrucci actions should be. I'm sure mine is wrong.
